What is immigration?
Why do people immigrate?
With our political climate constantly shifting, and with recent efforts to close the nation’s borders, it’s important to understand the principles that drive people to leave their homes and attempt to build a new life somewhere else. “Globalization” is a term often applied to a broad range of global phenomena that has, in recent decades, reshaped the lives of countless people. A few of these forces include: the industrialization of the world, the creation of a more globalized global marketplace, the movement of people from impoverished parts of the world to the richest countries, and the globalization of the world’s largest military force. It’s important to note that these ideas are not generally synonymous. Globalization can refer to the movement of people, not the movement of goods.
